Welcome to the Molecular Biophysics (MB) group in the Physical Sciences division of the Department S.A.I.F.E.T. Polytechnic University of Marche in Ancona, Italy.

The research of the group focuses on the analysis of structural properties and polymorphism of molecules and systems of biological interest using X-ray and neutron scattering techniques.

Our current research falls in three main areas:

• structural and conformational properties of proteins in solution
   
• structural properties and interactions in quadruplexes of guanosine
   
• structure and stability of non-lamellar lyotropic lipidic phases

The MB group currently includes three faculty researchers, three postdocs and three PhD students.

The MB group is headed by Prof. Paolo Mariani.
